Aucocisco School in Freeport, ME, is seeking a dynamic, creative, certified teacher to join our K–8 Special Education team. Eligibility for Maine Special Education certification (282) is required.

Responsibilities of the position include: 

  • Follow curriculum that meets core standards. 

  • Provide engaging, dynamic, individualized instruction based on each student’s strengths, needs, and learning style. Ability to differentiate instruction to meet each student’s needs.

  • Effective communicator with the ability to build relationships with students, parents, coworkers, and school district personnel.

  • Fulfill case management duties for 10-14 students, including IEP paperwork and documentation.

  • Conduct academic evaluations and classroom observations

  • Complete progress monitoring on a timely basis.

  • Implement Positive Behavior Support Plans

  • Experience working with students with autism and/or learning disabilities.
