The New Shed Has Arrived!
On Sunday, October 16, our new shed was delivered thanks to the help of the Davis family and partners Tim Davison and Kevin Davis of Engineered Construction Services. This shed was designed by one of our teachers, Kathy Condon, and two of our students, Ben and Wes. Students at Portland Arts and Technology High School built it during the 2010-2011 school year. Aucocisco is awarded a State Department of Energy Mini-Grant
Students of Ms. Tarpo's Middle School science class conducted an energy audit of the building and produced a PowerPoint presentation to submit to MEEP, the Maine Energy Education Program, in applying for a grant. Throughout this project, the students learned about and documented how energy is used and wasted. They were awarded a $900 grant that will be put to good use by helping our building be more energy efficient. Congratulations and a huge Thank You to them for their fabulous effort on this project.
Student's videos make it to the finals!
Students from Aucocisco School entered the Trend Micro 2011 What's Your Story online video contest vying for the grand prize of $10,000. Three groups each created a short video on the following topics: Being a Good Online Citizen, Using a Mobile Phone Wisely, and Maintaining Your Privacy Online. Of the many videos entered, the three Aucocisco videos made it to the finals. Congratulations to all for their hard work, cooperation, imagination and dedication to this project.
Student Performance Night
Family and friends of Aucocisco students thoroughly enjoyed an hour of skits, singing, and student videos on Wednesday evening, April 13. Performance Night was a wonderful opportunity to showcase the talents, skills, and enrichment activities developed during special programming on Wednesdays.
OPEN HOUSE -- Wednesday, April 13
Aucocisco School and Learning Center held an Open House for prospective new students and their families on Wednesday evening, April 13, 6:30-7:30 p.m. Parents joined us to learn more about all of our programs and view examples of student work. Aucocisco staff and parents of current students were on hand to answer questions and show families how Aucocisco School can meet their needs.

Open House October 14
Aucocisco School and Learning Center held an Open House for prospective new students and their families on Thursday evening, October 14. The Open House was held from 6 - 8PM at the Aucocisco Schoool and Learning Center, located at 126 Spurwink Avenue, Cape Elizabeth.
