Aucocisco’s Harvest Lunch Sept. 17
Last spring, students, families, and teachers planted four raised-bed gardens in the school’s front yard as part of the “Organic Edible School Yard Garden Project”. All that work paid off Sept. 17 at Aucocisco’s Harvest Lunch. Student-made pizzas, garden salads, fresh apples, and apple juice were on the menu. It was a delicious way to enjoy the benefits of cooking with locally grown foods. Our gardens grew typical pizza ingredients such as tomatoes, basil, wheat, and onions. The garden project was supported by a grant from the Communities Promoting Health Coalition.
